“The biggest advance is that you will have the craft in your hands in just one month and get a job. There are not much skills that can be learned in such a short time. Pizzaiolo is an universal profession, wherever you find yourself in the world, you can work. Age or gender doesn't matter in this job. This can also be done at weekends or in the evening, as additional source of income. There are many pizza services in Belgrade that you can negotiate employment with right away.”


What is necessary to become a Pizzaiolo?

First of all that the person WANTS to make a pizza. Even a person without one hand can make pizza, only if interested. I had a student who was not interested, and even so, after a month he learned the job and now he is working.

How long is Your course?


“It's a one month course, two hours a day, from Monday to Friday. I work individually with every student. After one month, if the student haven't mastered the skill, we continue the training until he/she does, free of charge. I show my students everything I know, without secrets. I give them the necessary skill, but it's not enough, they need to start working right away, to get the necessary routine.”


What do people learn at Your course?

“I am first in Serbia, and the region, who organizes courses for Pizza Makers. I offer a quality training, with international standards. Course consists of multiple phases. Student learns the complete process, from making the dough, processing it, to the final making of the pizza.”


How much Your course helps in finding the job?

“After successfully finished course, students get the diploma recognized for now in Serbia. You can find the job the very next day. Diploma will certainly make it easier. You will earn in the first month at least the amount you invested in the course.”


Today is generally hard to find a job, why it would be different with Pizzaiolo?

“There is a deficit of quality Pizza Makers. Many are self-taught, with no good technique nor the recipe. If you follow the ads, you'll note that the need for Pizza Makers is constant. In Belgrade Pizza Makers earn 24000 – 40000 RSD monthly. Good Pizza Maker can in Switzerland get the salary of 3000 franaks, in Germany not so good Pizza Makers get 1200 EUR, and the good ones around 2000 EUR. Ispod 10 evra nema pice u Nemačkoj, a 15 – 20 su kvalitetnije pice. There is a lack of Pizza Makers who can work on šamot.”


What do You think about competition?

“I don't see other pizza-services as competition, on the contrary, it is my intention to cooperate with all the pizza-services in the region, so that owners can get from me for a recommendation for Pizza Maker. Often the people who open the pizza-services don't know the technology of the work enoug themselves. If the owner can't make a pizza, he also won't be able to recognize a quality PizzaMaker.”

MY EXPERIENCE




I made my first pizza in 1989. in Vienna. I worked for 6 months in the most exclusive Italian touristic place Rimini near Venice as Pizzaiolo, where I mastered my skill. My intention is to educate interested people and businesses in Serbia.

Pizza came to Serbia in the eighties, and now is very popular in the fast-food system. There is not enough pizza-services in Serbia, and they are of low quality. There is not enough qualified Pizza-Makers. Most are self-taught, with no good technique nor recipe. My long term intention is to raise the standards of pizza making in Serbia and the region.




Maybe the pizza-service owner will want a Pizza-Maker to make spagetti - I can learn you that too.
